Hi everyone,

I'm quite new here as you can tell but i've been lurking here and there.

On the network at work, we've got the UT CD files stored on the server and can play it just by double clicking the exe file and can play LAN games from that source. What other games can that be done with, or are there any that can be used with just having one CD.

The main objective is to be able to play LAN games (not using the internet) with as little installation/hassle as possible.

Any help would be really appreciated.

I know it is not very advanced but at work we have recently been playing Re-volt - old school remote control racing now available as abandonware. It is a very small programme and a lot of fun (I reckon it would need to be installed on each local machine though).

We play it as the average work PC is a bit sloowww.

You can do that with Total Annihilation. Once the game's installed on one pc, you can just copy the folder across and run it on other machines.

I've tried some of these abandonware games before without much luck, does this one [require/work best] with DosBOX, and if it does, which front-end would you recommend for a noob? Or any noob advice would be muchly appreciated.

:D

Edit: Because I loved Re-Volt when I had my Dreamcast.

Nope, works fine on plain old windows. At work we have Windows 2000 systems and it works fine and dandy. On XP it seems to work OK too.

The game is from 1999 but looks pretty good even now and is FUN to play. I cannot get battle tag to work though but reading about it it doesn't sound that special.
