Hi,

Will be looking at setting up a new machine in the near future and will be looking to watercool a 4770k and 2 x R9 290's. Rad wise, the max i'll be able to fit in the case is a 360 and a 240. Rads are XSPC AX360 and AX240.

My question is, will a single EK-DDC 3.2 18w pump be enough for the loop, or should I run 2 of them in series?

I currently have 2 separate EK-DDC pumps with X-RES 100's attached to them. If i'm running 1 then it's straight forward, but if i'm going to run 2 in series, can I run the first pump in the loop with the res attached and then the 2nd pump (with just a top on it) immediately after?

Jim :)

Easily enough. I thought my 4.0 pump wouldn't be enough for 120.5, RAM block, VRM/NB block, CPU block and 290x block, so i doubled up (only another £40, so why not!). I only switched on one of the pumps during the filling of the loop and found it easily to be enough.

I think the whole multi-pump thing applied a lot more back when people were using weak aquarium pumps, as watercooling pumps were not yet available.

My 18w DDC has been running fine for a couple of years with a i7 950, sli 580's and 2x 120.4 rads in the loop.
