single gpu or x-fire/sli?

Im looking at this HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X Plus A bit more then I want to spend at the moment but with it being bundled with Battlefield 3, Dirt 3 & Deus Ex makes this a good deal.

What SLI/X-fire set ups that will match the ice q in performance and price?
just want to see if it's worth getting a duel gpu now or later on.

single. then go xfire later once you get the money. Buy the best card you can with the money at the moment, then save and buy a 2nd. I personally prefer just 1, unless your forced into getting 2 to run 3 monitors.........

Only reason I have crossfire is due running res of 2560x1440.

If you are only running around 1080, go for faster single. The idea of having 2 cards is a nice thought, but can be hassle at times.

Or wait a while till the 7000 series gets here (might even be less than a month away)

Thanks for the replys, I guess I'll wait a while longer. While I wait what do I look for in a gpu? The card I was/am thinking of buying has 700mhz core yet http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-040-HS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1866a 6870 with a 900mhz core for less money

Best thing to do whenever buying something like a graphics card, is to wait till they are released, then do some research on as many sites as possible which review the cards you are interested in getting.

That way you can make a more informed decision in buying a card which will suit your needs. I too would recommend getting the fastest single card you can get at the time you are ready to buy, and then save and get a second later on if your needs require it.
