Single graphic's card only running at PCI-E x8 on Abit Fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

Shouldn't a single graphic's card would run at PCI-E x16 on this motherboard? I thought the PCI-E slots would run at x8 if I was using SLI.Is there anyway to change the bus speed?

If I'm stuck at x8 does this mean I won't be able to run a 8800 series card in the future?

I'm using bios 12 and a single XFX 7800GTX graphic's card.

Yes the SLI selector card is in the normal default position.

Just taken out and reseated the graphics card and the probelm is still there.

So now the question is which is faulty the motherboard or the graphics card?

Thanks for the info mate! I hope your right.I guess I'll find out for sure when I eventually get an 8800 series card.
