Hey

I currently have the following setup but need to produce a second machine for my other half to game on, I am tempted to basically give her my machine and rebuild with the same specifications except change the motherboard and add SLI to it, does anyone know any locations to benchmarks of SLI 8800 GTX cards? Anyone have any experience with SLI and the 8800 GTX cards?

Thanks
Mike

Hey

Yea been looking at the videos on youtube, do you know any locations of any HD Videos using SLI 8800 GTX's ? Also anyone had any experince running them in SLI, if so what board was you using? Been recommended one of the BFG 680i boards due to the cards being BFG as well.

The fact thats its BfG has little to do with anything, although as an owner of the evga model I can safely say Ive had no problems other that some FSB issues which is more than likely an isolated case, the reference 680is are pretty much the bees knees unless your looking for some super copper attack all over your mother board inwhich case the asus and abit are up your street. Will you be watercooling? the cards/ mobo?

My bro and myself both have BFG model cards, been fine. My bro uses his GTX in the EVGA 680i mobo and it's pretty good. No complaints. :)

Hi

The fact Im looking at the same branding on the board is simply because I can get combined support/warrenty help if anything does go wrong, I can also deal direct with BFG rather than multiple companies. I am fully aware that technically there is no direct benifits from using the same brand board.

What Im really trying to see is if there is enough performance increase by going SLI to make it worth while if its only a 10% gain I dont think I will bother for now and spend money on a decent sound card and speak setup instead. Id also like to know if people have experienced problems with the 8800 in SLI, games that wont work? driver issues? bottlenecks? power issues? heat issues?

I normally use air cooling but seeing I have a thermaltake armour case which is all set to take water cooling if I choosed to take that route, would I need to?

Thanks
Mike
