Single point auto focus

This is really bugging me. Does anyone know if there is a quick way to switch between automatic AF and single point AF, where you select the point using the joystick? I am talking about on Nikon DSLRs.

I know I can do it via the menu screen but would prefer if you do it by button/control wheel.

On my D750, hold down the AF/M button and scroll the front wheel.

No front wheel on my D3300!

Any other way of changing to single point AF without menu diving?

On my D800 and D7000 you just press the AF/M button, found bottom.left of the mount. Scroll around. Otherwise I could programme it to one of my function buttons.

No idea on a D3300, may not have ebough general function buttons to reprogram.

Pretty sure on the d3200 you had to go into menus, Likely the same on D3300.

Nope there is no way to reprogram any buttons. Very frustrating. Only bad things so far about this camera.

How about just press the "i" button on the back of the camera and then change the focus settings there? It's only a few clicks:
