single slot card required

The only one i can think of thats a single slot which is around the same is the 7950 GT, everything else is dual slot, your limited looking for single slot.

Is it? I don't think so... I'd say the X1800XT was a bit faster.
 
X1800 XT 512MB is faster in almost all circumstances, there are one or two the raw shader power of the X1950 Pro props it up though and in any case the performance is very close.
