single vs dual chan question

Hi,

I was meant to get the Kingston HyperX 4GB dual channel kit (KHX8500D2K2/4G) but was instead sent two single channel 2GB memory modules (KHX8500D2/2G). Don't know too much about memory - would running two single channel modules effectively make it dual channel?

Just wondering if I should send them back or whether there is any (or no) likely difference to be expected? Not bought at OcUK btw..
