Sins - Anyone still Play?

I got the hankering for a deep 4x strategy game, and Im currently reinstalling sins of a solar empire.

I was wondering if its still being frequently played? I dont own the expansions, is anyone left still playing the vanilla game?

And would any of you like to play some vanilla sins with me? I'm not the best player, but I know the basics enough to not get utterly trounced in the early stages.
