I'm setting up a test network to test and demo MS Lync Server. Does anyone know of a provider that has the cheapest setup costs for a SIP trunk? All I need is two concurrent calls at max. Like I say, it's just for testing purposes. Also, if anyone has good experiences of SIP providers assuming this gets implemented then I'd be interested.

we had a similar situation, for a few phones to initially test it we went with london based voip fone.

After we went live with it in our network we got a company called Interoute

What are Interoute's prices like?

Edit: also, I know there is a certification process for SIP providers for OCS and Lync, but do the vast majority of SIP providers work anyway?

Gradwell have the enterprise VOIP services which allows SIP or IAX trunks. An inbound SIP trunk is £4/month and allows 2 concurrent calls.

An ex-customer used gradwell for their business phones communicating with a trixbox server. They only used OCS for messaging so never looked at setting up a SIP trunk on it.

I use voiptalk for an IAX trunk and have a local DDI number with them as well. Can't fault them and have never had an issue with it

We also use VoipTalk, from memory you get an 0560 number and a 2-line trunk for free but we pay for an geographic number which is a few pounds a month.

You may have to top up once to activate or something like that (£5-10)

We use and resell Netplan SIP trunks

Have also dealt with Voiceflex (but moved away from them as they seemed quite un-reliable) and also VoIP-Unlimited (although we only have one VoIP unlimited trunk)

We use Voiceflex recommended by Siemens biggest UK supplier of telecoms kit

The siemens trainer when I did my HiPath v8 course said they all use sipgate
