I was just thinking about him the other day, absent mindedly watching one of these "where are they now" videos. They used the picture from the above article, and I remember thinking to myself how much I would miss him - I didn't realise he was 88.

Don't usually post these threads, but he's one of those great actors who I just find it a pleasure to watch, and one who has played some iconic roles, so this has resonated with me quite a bit.

RIP Sir Ian Holm :(
 
Another sad hobbituary I didn't want to read. He's another of those familiar faces -- and in his case particularly, voices -- that's been a regular in productions throughout my fairly long life. RIP.
 
My dog, Bilbo, finds this upsetting.

Another one gone. RIP.

I look back at some of these actors/actresses and remember them as young people. Seeing them die of old age just brings back to me how we are all ageing and it will be our time soon.
