Sis 5598/6326 driver?

Hi all,

Using a temp PC for the inevitable future, and it has the above graphics card. Windows has installed default drivers, and I want to be able to view video's, so I wondered if anyone knew of any XP drivers around?

I've googled and googled, but all inactive or Win98/2k..

I want to try driverguide, but I can't remember my details and it's not sending the flipping new pass out?! tried a new email addy but it's just not sending emails.

Any help mucho appreciated.

Have you tried the Win2000 driver from the SiS site?

windows 2000 driver should work fine

I obviously need some glasses, but I can only see 3 sets of VGA drivers on the sis website? :s ... and none of them are for the above? Does one of them work?

Well I downloaded the 2k ones, but im pretty sure they're the same version that's been auto installed by winblows...

Using VLC player & i've downloaded the Klite codec pack as well, but all the films i'm playing have pixelated and have flashes of colour going across em... any ideas? borked gpu?

As an aside, it's an old style AGP socket (will a new card fit in there?? - CBA get my new agp card out to check

)

ahhh the SIS6326,

Used to have this graphics cards in all the time at work, doing old machines.

If the drivers are installed its probably down to the GPU with not enough hardware support. Time to upgrade my friend! Even a Geforce 2 will be like a 8800GTX compared to the SIS :eek:

My system went kaput at the weekend

... wasn't that much a decent one anyway (2200XP, 2gig ram, 9600pro... ) but it was a beast compared to this

Can't really justify an upgrade when I only use it for browsing and movies !

How you getting on with it anyway? still the same?

You should be able to pick up a real cheapy on fleabay or the Members market, It will make windows a lot smoother and aid with your films. All you need is a cheap 32mb Geforce MX200.

Still shoddy to be honest... I tend to be synching around the 4000kbps mark but it is very erratic... i'm wondering whether I should change my downstairs filter because it's a bit tatered. (got it boosted upstairs via a line extension from the downstairs line)

Seems to stay connected with web browsing and some downloading, but as soon as I go on the 360... it'l drop after a bit, then reconnect.. be fine for a bit then drop........

annoying to say the least, but i'l give it its 10 days, can't remember when the upgrade period started though
