Tip 1601 : waol.exe (AOL) : Program consumes a large amount of memory.

The extended message is:

Warning W1601 - This process consumes a huge amount of memory.

Fix: If you have many processes like this one, make sure you have enough physical memory to sustain them. Otherwise the system performance may decrease due to lack of memory.

Gotta laugh. I'm only with AOL through apathy, although their service is fine. It's the software that isn't. I keep meaning to get around to disabling it and setting up a connection myself, without the AOL software. I just have to find out how to do it.

Exactly the reason I dont use AOL's Software!

If you have an ADSL Router which you configure with and IP address through a Browser then you dont need the AOL software just simply uninstall it and use your browser (Firefox :D)

If you have one of those USB ones, then once its configured and the CD put the usb modem drivers on your PC it should then work fine without the AOL software.

And If you need the software for email, just use Outlook or some other email client to download the mail to your PC

AOL Software = BAD!

Enjoy! ;)
