Sister-in-law suspects key logger, how do I detect?

You type by clicking buttons on a screen instead of physical keys. Most keyloggers detect only input from a physical keyboard.

There may not be a virus at all anyway. Someone may have seen her enter her password at work or elsewhere. Perhaps a phishing scam or similar.

Before you do all that ask her what email address her itunes and ebay is linked to.

If they are linked to her work address, all someone has to do is log onto either website, click forgotten password and a new one or reset will be sent to her work email address.

Does she use different passwords for all her stuff as well?

I'd be interested to know what it was, as NOD32 is pretty good IMHO..

Well it's her boyfriends iTunes account and I think maybe his eBay account but i will ask those questions

In the future maybe recommend she uses the on screen keyboard to log into certain sites? :)

This doesnt help anymore as a lot of keyloggers take a screenshot around the mouse to see what is clicked. ( My dad was a bit of a **** a put one on my pc), I'll give it to him it was a good keylogger, logged key presses mouses clicks, didnt even show a process however Avast picked it up and destroyed it with a bootscan, also resulting in him reinstalling windows on his pc

Spoke to her and they are both linked to his msn.com address but he can only logon from his home laptop as he doesn't have any access from work or anywhere else for that matter?

My only other concern is that they have a base unit in the bedroom upstairs all on the same network, I'm thinking that may be harbouring something so may need looking at too :(
