Try a different font for the body text, personally I'd go with a sans-serif.

I'm not a huge fan of scrolling panes inside html docs, I'd much rather scroll the whole page, but thats just personal choice.

I agree with LazyManc on both points. I suggest some more bright and bold colours to offset the dark areas; currently it's a little dull and flat feeling. Not sure if it would fit in with the band's style though.

Its a metalcore/heavy metal band. Anthrocite means coal and other such fuel. Any suggestions to make it a little less flat?
the background, try a colour such as #222; instead of flat black, maybe have a slight gradient at the top too, also once you've changed the blue body type away from times it might be an idea to add some subtle texture to the background rather than the flat colour.

Do you think i should have the gradient on the header also, or behind the header?

ok i have messed around a bit what do you think now?

It has a good base. Personally i would loose the scroll bars on the news section, or at least colour them for people who have a browser that supports this.

You have a lot of empty space and will be better assessed once filled.

The other main thing that strikes me is that if i go to a website i like to immediately know what it is i am looking at. Nothing on there tells me it is to do with music. Why not put some music notes, outlines of drums, guitar, etc on it? This could go in the enormous black space at the bottom sides.

i think you should revert the background as it was before, the gradient doesnt fit, i was thinking just a slight something to lift it from black such as a smooth transition from dark grey to black, i forgot about the header type being affected too so that wouldn't work. Hmm...
