Hello chaps,

Well, decided to give my personal page an overhaul, found here http://www.rcsmith.co.uk

However, some things arnt right in IE. Everything is fine in FF as far as i can tell, although i havnt done a lot of testing on it.. infact.. dont think ive run validator before posting this so excuse any validity errors. The main thing in IE is the image borders. IE doesnt seem to like me using the class with the img property to specify appearance for just the images.. so you dont get the nice rollover border that you do in FF.

Also, im wondering where to take my site from here. I need to learn some PHP for my next year at uni and have a month to do so before i go back. Wheres best to learn PHP or is a book the best option? Ive got a little experience but generally find it tough with where to start when doing PHP/programming.

All help/criticism is much appreciated. Thanks.

Only something small, but you need a capital I in here:

"perfect marriage of these two activities for me, and creating something i can see gives me great satisfaction."

Good spot, as for IE and FF working the same, versions? Im on FF2.0 and IE6, gives me a good basis for testing on for the majority of cross compatibility. In IE here there isnt borders around the images when you hover over them? Would be nice to know if that works in IE7. Its not a major issue, but its annoying because they link and they should have some affordance for showing that. Oh, ive also found that when you do click an image in IE it doesnt use the background overlay that comes up in FF. It should turn all of the background to a transparent blue.

love that vector skyline gtr there mate, one of my all time favourite cars :)

any chance of passing on the vector file so i can use it in some art to make a kickass wallpaper or would you prefer to hang on to it?

Im afraid i wont be giving out the vectorised version. Theres a bit too much work invested in it. I cant remember how many layers are there.. i think its 500+ Sorry.

So no thoughts on some PHP i could learn. As said, i am a novice but i do need to learn a bit about PHP and the security behind it so it would be good to learn some login stuff.. are web tutorials alright or should i invest in a book?
