Site remembers?

Hi guys, just a general question about login in. I recently went to a website that i havent been before, but in the login screen it asked me for my email addy and password. In the email part was an arrow which dropped down to reveal my hotmail email addy. Anyone know how this is possible if i havent been there before? and do you know of any other sites that can do this?

the form field was called E-mail address and your browser (or the google, MSN or yahoo toolbar) remebered your last entry.
