Sitemap for wordpress?

Firstly my site is going to be around 25 pages.

So do I need an XML sitemap? Which wordpress plugin is best for this?

Do I also need a static sitemap?

It doesn't hurt to have one so you should. Google XML Sitemaps seems to work pretty well, and also it "notifies all major search engines every time you create a post about the new content".

You shouldn't need any other sitemaps bar this. It automatically updates the sitemap for you.

does google automatically look for http://url.com/sitemap.xml or do I need to define it somewhere?

Set your site up with Webmaster Tools and you can submit the sitemap location there.
