Can anyone point me in the direction of websites or online forums that sell used cameras please? Would prefer to buy from an enthusiast site rather than online auctions.

Harrisons of Sheffield are great, all used gear comes with 12 month warranty,

Is still good but not as good as it once was, I guess like all forums it has seen a decline in users so the second hand kit section has taken a kicking as well. I've picked up all my decent digital cameras from TP going way back to my 30D and most of my lenses have also been second hand from members, it's a great community and the one and only time I recieved a lens with a fault the guy was very good about taking it back (Canon 28-70mm f2.8 with a loose front element)

If I remember correctly they decided they had too many people using the forum just for the trade section and a set a bunch of requirements to regulate it.
At the most stringent point they required you to have a certain percentage of posts in the rest of the forum before you could use the trade section, they've eased those requirements a little now though.

My latest Zeiss I got from ffordes.
In the past I've used WEX and also MPB.
I actually don't buy much used stuff from TP, I rather sell on there as you get more compare to MPB usually. I did have to return a lens to MPB once, they even arrange collection as the lens was listed as with box and hood but it wasn't. That's much easier to do than a random.
Locally I've used LCE to part ex my stuff towards new gear before too but the rates are the lowest of the lot.

That was a while back to be honest the whole forum seems to be on the slide much like here I guess the members leaving are not being replaced quite like they were in days gone by!
