Sites for sending free texts?

Does anyone know of any sites which let you send free SMS messages to mobiles?

I know about cbfsms.com, but that is unreliable at peak times.

I thought O2 and Orange let you send a 100 or so free a month?

Don't you need a phone for that? (mine is lost, hence me needing to use a free online service).

you with orange? cos you can sign into online account and send some.

I'm not registered with them, and you need a phone to receive your password I think. But thanks for the tip, I'll remember it for when I pick up my next phone.
