Sites to find someone to live with, Auckland

Hi All,

Arrived in New Zealand this week. Living in Auckland and need to move out of the hotel and into a flat ASAP.

Does anyone here know good sites for finding flats in Auckland? Can't use trademe.nz as they get funny about my corporate internet (goes through VPN to Germany) and blocked my account. Had a look at some others but a lot look pretty dodgy. Has anyone got personal experience with any of these sites?

I'm trying to find a flat with people in as I don't want to only socialise with people from work.

Very grateful for any help anyone can offer.

although you may be lucky finding someone with the answer here posting on a kiwi based forum would probably be your best bet at getting the info you want

Might be worth trying Gumtree I found it helpful when looking for house whilst on working holiday visa few years back good luck!

Trademe is your best bet. Are you looking to share or rent on your own? Where in Auckland are you looking?

It's probably something you've already thought of but if Trademe is blocking your corporate internet then why not use an internet cafe (or whatever they have there) for a couple of hours after work/at weekends until you get somewhere?

I'm just jealous, NZ is still on my list of countries to live in
