My Webdesign knowledge is limited but i know enough to build a basic web site, my problem is SIZE !!! depending on what screen resolution the person is using depends how well my page looks on screen :( My page is optimized for 1024x768 but if viewed in lower resolutions the viewer has a lot of scrolling to do Horizontally and Vertically !!!! and if viewed at higher resolutions the page doesn't stretch with it or at least the header logo doesn't and there's a lot of black down each side.

What is the best way to start designing webpages that can be viewed on different resolutions weather it be 800x600 or 1280x1024

Many Thanks

Look at how other web pages are designed. You can go fixed. Where everything stays the same size, or you can go flexable where the size fits the page, but this can leave massive gaps on big screens . I think the recommended way generally is a bit of both.

The thing to do is view other websites. Obviously not the website itself , but the design of the website.
