Skate

tbh I'd argue that they're not as good as Skate 3 (or especially 2, minus dark flips/handplants), and on a technical level not as good as Session or SkaterXL (although part of that may be that I'm taking a while to get used to the control scheme again)

I agree with most of your negatives, I was especially disaapointed with the video editor - no ability as far as I can tell to cut between different camera modes (like having multiple 'tripod' centres for a clip)

Agreed, I don't like the physics or mechanics. Many tricks are missing, things feels too arcadey and doing tricks, grinds etc are all way too easy to do. Even the THPS require more skill to play than Skate now

I loved Skate 1 because it felt harder and rewarding and more realistic compared to THPS games at the time. Somehow time has flipped and now THPS games feel more rewarding to play than the latest Skate

Season 1 came out and doesn't have much to do in it, so got bored and made this

I still can't get over how artificial physics and mavity in particular looks. As soon as your character does an ollie he just starts floating in mid air and the board also floats and then when you do grinds it's like the board is attached to rope that pulls you onto the rail

I was hoping by now we'd have better physics modelling in games but unfortunately we're going backwards as many games now seem to be worse than what we had 15 years ago

As for lack of content, can't be surprised there - it's taken them 5 or 6 years to build what we have now, so clearly it's either a tiny dev team or a really incompetent/inefficient dev team, so the rate of new content coming in will be painfully slow and in any case they're more interested in selling micro transactions
