If your PC can't run any of the sort of newish tony hawk games like THPS 3 & 4, American wasteland, Underground 1 & 2 then you might be in trouble
Personally I've always loved the tony hawk games over the years despite many of my mates saying asking me 'are you still playing these, haven't they gone a bit stale?' I suppose they have a bit but if you are really into the first few then I can't see why you won't like the others. American Wasteland tries to be a bit different and add a free roaming story to the campaign where you can get off your board and check things out. It was trying to be a mini RPG I suppose but its a decent game anyway.
My personal favourite game is Tony hawk's 3. Not sure what it is about it but I just love the levels and the feel to it. 2 probably has my favourite soundtrack on it but I never got round to playing 1 on the PS1 (i think it was). 4 is good too
I was a bit disappointed when I heard the next gen games that came out on the Xbox were not going to reach the PCs. However, after scanning over a few reviews in recent times I can say I'm not that bothered anymore. It got a bit of a hammering and received scores around high 60s and low 70s. I'd love to play through one of the older games with a brand new graphics engine similar to what the black mesa mod is doing with HL1. It would give it a new lease of life for me but I can't see that happening anytime soon.
This SKATE game I hear all about sounds great but its only available on the consoles which probably means I won't get to play it. None of my mates seem to be that interested in buying it but surely its very cheap by now? I think it came out at least 2 years ago
Anyway, if you are considering getting into some of the tony hawk games you should be able to pick them up for dirt cheap on some other well known sites out there. I got American wasteland for a fiver from the jungle. You might have to get buy them second hand as the sites have seemed to stopped selling the majority of the titles for the PC.
