well i used to skate about 3 years ago. I got a ankle injury, stopped and now ive started again with my mate until i go in the army. landed a tre flip again after skating for a month. Only thing i couldn't do when i used to skate was manual. Ive now succeeded by manualing about 20 meters but i know people who can manual forever, i need tips to make me go longer. and i cant nose manual to save my life any tips ?

pref not expert village or any youtube vid. im looking for personal experience from other skaters on here.

I used to lock the leg that you are pushing down and control the angle of the board with the other. The locking legs foot was at the very end of the board and the "control" legs foot was over the opposites ends truck bolts. Adjust "control" leg pressure and move you center of mavity till you lock in. That is the hard bit but once you have locked in u can keep manuling for ages. The quicker you lock in the longer you will go for. The more time you spend trying the find the ballance the more speed you loose and you are more likly to scrape the board on the floor.

Once you can do that you can bend the back leg as well for more control and eventually enable you the olie out of the manual etc

Used to work quite well for me "back in the day".

Get a proper hobby. : /

Only kidding, its just the first thing that popped into my head. :D Touched a nerve it seems.

Certainly...but seeing as you was joking, I'll let you off ;)

I've made loads of friends through skateboarding, I spent a lot of my teenage years skating and socialising, and generally keeping fit and interacting with people I wouldn't have otherwise talked to. :)

I miss it actually, not been able to do it for the past couple of years due to working, and declining health issues regarding knees / ankles etc.

Regarding the manuals, be glad you can get 20 odd metres :) That's a good effort, a lot of the time it involves constantly shifting body wait for the leading foot...And of course a lot of practise.

I know you said you didn't want videos, but just go online and look at videos of people like rodney mullen and daewon song (sp?)...They'll atleast give you ideas on what you can try :) Just remember not everyones technique is the same.

Good luck though buddy, I'm rather jealous of the fact you're still skating.
