Hi All
I've just started playing with Sketchup and after a lot of confusion initially I'm starting to get the hang of it a bit and can create basic shapes and extrude them etc etc.
However, I'm currently trying to design a shelf and would like to put a groove in the side of it and am stuggling.
I thought it would be a a fairly simple procedure
1) draw a rectangle the size of the shelf.
2) Pull/Push top of rectangle to give the shelf depth.
3) Repeat the above with a smaller rectangle to give a piece the size of the groove.
4) Move the rectangle for the groove into place in the shelf.
5) select the groove shape and use Edit>intersect with model
However this doesn't seem to be working.
So, how do I do it?
I am using free version which I'm sure will make a difference as the intersect tools are only in the pro version...![Frown :( :(](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/frown.gif)
Any help very much appreciated.
