Where would be good for skiing on the continent for a bunch of n00b lads to the sport, preferably where there's some life at night. Thinking of going next year, maybe April. Prices are not the driving factor.

Cheers!

April is quite late in the season for France so make sure you go somewhere high up like Val Thorens. That being said, the snow is good in Alpe D'huez at the moment which is where myself and the uni are going on friday :D

I'd recommend Val Thorens in April. Been there twice in April and never had any problems with the pistes. They were a little thin on the lower slopes but the bashers managed to keep them open. :)

has anyone been skiing up in switzerland?
How do the prices comapre to going to france?

Fusion and I we're just working it out that it's gonna cost about £750 for an apartment + flight, does this sound about right?

sorry for all the questions but i'm a noob to all this.

Its more expensive, but there is a lot of variation between the different resorts. When I lived over there, I used to go to Engelberg. Probably one of my favourites. Its highest bubble would take you up to 3600m. The snow was always good in late season.

I've been to Saas Fee, it's got a glacier up top, so it should be reasonably good towards the end of the season. Expensive mind.

The Italian mountain range is quite nice. Went Skiing in a place called Tarvisio (I think thats how its spelt :D) and was really nice. Though can't compare to the french alps or anything cause i've never been there.

I have been skiing at Passo del Tonale during easter last year, with the glacier for when there wasn't too much snow on certain days proved to be fine. Certain hotels do tend to attract school holiday go-ers, but was definately enjoyable and plenty of bars.

If cost aint a problem go to america the snow will still be good in april, could be iffy in the alps, and the night life will be good too
