Just heard this term used by the pathologist in a CSI type show ('Bones'... do they air that show in the UK?) I think the context was supposed to be serious...

What's the worst line you remember from silly American drama series?

What's wrong with the line?

I've heard it used before in books and tv. When a body decomposes the skin can literally slip off the bone.

Ewwww

That makes it funnier then - because the pathologist in Bones went on to explain what skin slippage was... and got it totally wrong! She said it was a mark on the skin from where the skin had slipped against other skin (like a friction burn I guess).

I don't understand why Hollywood started calling crackers hackers... hackers were something else before that, crackers were (and still are) the naughty ones who write malicious code.

My most hated movie computer sound effect is when someone does a search and the screen starts scrolling through a load of information... complete with a noise like a Roladex flipping 'round!

DOS systems would do that though (without the sound). Really annoying when you're looking for a filename that doesn't fit within the last screenful of listings.
