started this week, anyone else bothering to watch it or has everyone given up.

Personally i didnt really like any of the characters in season 5, and obviously they return for this series too, however after watching the first episode on Monday evening i felt that this series may well improve over the last.

They really hit the floor running with the first episode, so i am now looking forward to see where they go with it.
 
I thought the first 2 were really good but lost interest after that.

The missus has watched all seasons and wasn't too impressed with the characters in 5 (and now 6) but quite enjoyed the first episode of this season.
 
I don't know why i ever watched this show but the first one seemed quite good and a few episodes of the later ones were ok, the trouble is it's not a particularly nice show, it seems to follow a pattern, the first series of each group is generally ok fun times but the second turns depressing and lame, ill check back to see how this one ends up but if it's anything like past ones i think ill give it a miss, way too much teen angst and negativity for my liking. :p
 
Season 1 - awesome. Then it became too popular, so the producers tried to pile more of the stuff they thought made it popular on top. They were wrong, and now it's awful.
 
I liked the first two series, I thought the characters were great and story lines pretty good. I watched a fair bit of the third but gave up after a while and haven't bothered with 4, 5 or 6. From what you guys are saying I won't bother trying to catch up.
 
Like a few here, the first two series were great. I can remember all the characters. The third and fourth were okay, nothing special apart from the twins :p

I've been thinking for a short time but the only people I can remember from the 5th series is that lass who made the still frame wooden doll film and the mixed race lass who by appearance resembles the girl from the first series. Apart from that they're pretty much forgettable like the series is turning out to be :o

Pretty much, although I really really hated series 3 and so didn't even bother with 4, or 5. I hated the new set of characters (Pandora and Cook especially), the bad cliches referring back to series 1 and 2 and Effy. Disliked her in 1 and 2, disliked her even more once she opened her trap.

Series 1 and 2, great, everything else, absolute pap.

First two were really good, got the right balance of everything. Third and fourth were considerably worse, but still ~not too bad. Five and Six? ****ing terrible.
 
Skins 1 & 2 wasn't that dissimilar to what me and my friends got up to, with a few bucket loads of the Inbetweeners thrown in. They've just gotten much more unrealistic as the seasons have progressed.
 
I remember reading about how the writing of season 4 was turned over to younger people so it could explain how bad that series was, it got pretty dark as it progressed. The only episode I liked was the one involving JJ and him pursuing some lass he worked with. The rest were a bit pap, that Effy business was depressing aswell.
