"Skip" media key not working in Windows 7

I have been assuming this was an issue with iTunes, but today I tried a few other media players and they all share the same problem. My keyboard is a Saitek Eclipse II which has "Play", "Stop", "Back" and "Skip" media keys. Now, all of those keys work except "Skip", which does absolutely nothing, but I am sure it worked at some point in the past, does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I don't recall exactly when it stopped working, but it has been a while. It seems the same in every media player I have tried so far, including WMP, iTunes, foobar200 and The KMPlayer, it works just fine in my XP partition, but not in Windows 7.

No drivers for it, no. Going to take it to work with me today to test it on some other machines...it may just be the keyboard on its way out :(

I have an old Logitech keyboard that won't skip in WMC because they did away with the old software in favour of SetPoint, at which point all older keyboards lost functionality in Vista and W7 :(. The play / pause and mute buttons still work from the generic drivers and in XP everything still works great.

I'm also wondering if it's a similar story for you i.e. a driver issue.
