PC6400 2GB GeIL kit

Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard

Now, I think this is a very wise upgrade path to take (moving over from socket 939) whilst waiting for the new intel CPU's later in the year. Especially considering the DDR3 support.

Just wondering if folks agree or disagree...

Depends what you're doing with your PC? Word processing? Is your PC slow, and under what? Windows? Gaming? What videocard do you have have? System RAM?

Some gaming, image editing, rendering and anything else i'll ever come across and feel like throwing at it.

8600GT as a stop gap before DX10 starts to make itself more present.

That spec up there looks like a stonking upgrade. Wack that up to 3GHz and your rig will pretty much match any on here for a lot less dough.

That's roughly the spec I'm going to be doing for a build for a games rig for someone.

why dont you just pick up a cheap s939 x2 and sling that in as a stop gap?

I was using a 4400, wanted to get the socket to 775 which was the main point here.

The CPU there is the stop gap part.

Also there i've got the DDR3 option.

I'm hoping for 3ghz without hassle, 2.8 min.
