skt 939 to E2***

Currently I have a skt 939 4000+ as per my sig.Would I see much of an improvement going to a E2***?
Mainly used for gaming.

An E2xxx is faster yes but I wouldn't go for any less than a E7000 series, in your position (seeing as you are upgrading sockets).

You'd also need a new graphics card to get the best from a Core 2 CPU (assuming you want it for games).

I went from 3800+ to E5200 and clocked it up a bit and its been immense for me.

Don't go for a E2000 series as the E5200 is far superior.
