You can use your own router if you are connecting by PPPoA and extract the username and password, or generate one based on the MAC of your own router. It's against Sky T&Cs though. I flashed my DG834GT with DGTeam firmware to unlock the potential of it so technically I'm breaking T&Cs too.

Not sure if it's yet possible to connect if the connection protocol is MER.

im connecting through MER encapsulation. I have figured out a method.

much better and reliable than PPPOA.
The modem im using is the HG612 from BT openreach. I have hacked it and using it as a transparent modem. Also going to be handy for when i switch over to VDLS2 as it also supports that as well.
