SKY and BT Line

Hi there.

Moving house shortly and going to move from Virgin Media providing TV, Phone and Broadband to getting SKY HD with a SKY+ box in the bedroom.

I've had mixed messages as to wether SKY requires a BT phone line to be installed or not.

Can I have Virgin phone and broadband and use SKY for TV without needing a BT line at all?

Pretty certain you do need a BT Line. 99%

As far as I am aware it just needs a phone line to allow the box to send it's stuff to the marketing firm who subsidise the price of the kit. It shouldn't matter who that line is provided by, the BT thing probably comes from the fact that very few folk have VM and Sky in the same property.

I spoke to Sky and they gave conflicting information too. Tremendous.

You need a BT line for Sky Broadband.

Edit: Misunderstood, you need a telephone point for the engineer to activate your viewing card
