Hi

Am thinking of getting Sky+ and Multiroom but have a quick question about how it gets cabled. We currently have a standard sky box in the front room. I would like that to stay there and have the Sky+ box in the back room where we spend most of our time. What and how will they cable it up? If their are going to be loads of cables then the missus will go bananas

Cheers

you will need another cable from the LNB( the dish) for your sky+ as it has 2 inputs. And a cable from the LNB to the other room.

You will also need both boxes connected to the telephone line, and need to stay connected other wise you get letters and get fined etc.

So all depends on how far your boxes are away from the wall where the input dish will come from and the telephone box.

The cables will be run externally usually and then fed through the wall at the nearest spot and then tacked around the skirting. The sky engineer will run the phone extensions for you, these will be tacked along the shortest route of skirting to each box and must remain connected at all times to the same telephone line.

Sky+ box requires 2 coax feeds from the dish, the standard box will keep its current single feed.

Really? I've never been fined and I've had sky for 4 years. The only time it was plugged into the phone was on installation.

How many boxes do you have?
