sky BB has booted me due to Bulk Emails

Hiya guys

A friend of mine has had his sky BB stopped as someone has highjacked his pc and is sending out bulk emails.

He is using Norton (I told him ages ago to get rid)
and xp firewall(told him to use zonealarm)

Cant find much info for him is it the usual case of highhack this and spybot adaware or is there any new way to track this beast down

apparently they have a dedicated team looking into this misuse that other isp do not. this is supposedly why it hasn`t been brought to his attention before.

they want him to do a complete reformat before they will reconnect him

And people give virgin a hard time(although prob with just cause)

for all the time it takes to format and re-install id do that rather than be without the net for days, there is obviously some kind of spyware, trojan etc on there so you (they) might as well.

Never had any problems with Virgin.net, switched to Sky as the bill gets split between housemates

Did get booted from BT in the dark days of 56k for using it too much though, no warnings just a letter arriving a day or two after not being able to log in

As for the topic, well run hijackthis and post your report to the helpful guys on a highjackthis analysis forum of your choice.
