Sky Box Anytime Plus

it's a step forward in many ways, but maybe not all it's cracked up to be...
downloading something starts quickly and seems pretty rapid, but there isn't vast amounts of programmes like Sky make out to be!

oh, i thought it was going be a HUGE library of programs :( how misleading of them  will see tonight, but their ads make out pretty much the complete series of all their major programs are on there.
i had a similar dispointment with BT Vision when that first came out, looked promising, then lacked content updates.

maybe it's just me and I expect too much for a newish service. Don't get me wrong, it's a huge improvement from normal anytime in many ways, just not quite as good as I hoped...

I don't think it would make much difference...it starts a program downloading, and then when it's got so far (about 10% or thereabouts) you can begin watching it. we just schedule a few (they download to your hard drive) and then watch them later...with the slower speed I guess you'd just wait a couple of mins more before watching

im prettey sure even with the most optomistic figures from sky you can only get 16meg, so im pretty sure 85Mb/s will do as you wont be using it to transfer files or anything.

You can, but it's a bit of a faff. You'd need to set up internet connection sharing on the PC to allow devices connected to the LAN port access through the Wifi adapter.
There should be an official M$ technet article on doing so.

err no it's not, it's simple. turn ICS on, untick auto assign and tick auto script, plug in sky box via rj45 reboot pc and voila, it's that easy :-) the sky box will search the network itself and set itself up :)

all you need to do is go into help and support (I use win7) and type in Using ICS in the search box and it will show you what you need to do step by step. hth
