Sky box smoking + banging...since then net gone slow

Woke up the other night to banging downstairs...went to check what it was and the sky box was smoking :p so its been replaced but since then the internet seems to be running well slow...the stats are below so its showing a 10mb download speed i think but i am only getting 0.2-0.3 on a speedtest has any one had the same problem or know if the sky box could have caused this??

Never thought about that neodude but surly it wouldnt go on for a few days. Wanted to ask here before i end up rining a call center some where in the world :p
 
Send them a message. Try along the lines of "Not only did you give me an electrical device which might have set my house on fire, but now my internet isn't working. I've never heard of that with Virgin" and they'll be on the phone to you.
 
have you tried simply unplugging the sky box from the network to see if that makes a difference?


Un-plugged the sky box and it went back upto 12.2 meg stuck it back in and down to 0.2 meg lol...dunno what ill do but ill have a look into the sky box
 
Is your Sky box connected to your phoneline? If so is it filtered? and also make sure the phone cable is actually in the phone socket and not the ethernet connector. The amount of customers I have been to on self installs where they have plugged the phone lead into the ethernet port.

Edit" I know this wasn't a self install :)
