Quick question,

Im looking at broadcasting the output of my sky+ box around the house to other tv's and even pc's.

Next to the tv is a wifi router with a spare lan port, so what i want to do is convert a output from the sky box into some form of iptv signal that can be sent over my existing network.

Anyone have any suggestions on what products are available to do this?

not possible

you cant send video over IP. only way is to encode it into video and stream it, much like the slingbox does.

Nothing stoping you sending video over ip to any place in the world provided you have the right hardware

granted

but the only hardware ive seen has been suitable for CCTV type stuff. Ive not seen anything that could encode something like TV at real time and not loose quality aimed at the home market.

for slow fps CCTV etc.. its fine. But for TV etc.. i should imagine devices capable of this are mega money. not the sort of thing you do as a little project at home. Just use a sky sender over RF

much easier.
