Hi,

I wasn't sure if this is in the right section as it is a software and hardware question.

I got a lot of stuff for my little boy on the Sky box, namely Peppa Pig and the AWESOME Jake the Pirate. Whilst I settle into a new job away from home he is going with mummy to his grand parents in Russia and I want to put these cartoons onto an iPad for him.

I wanted to get them from the skybox onto the PC.

Is this possible yet?

Regards

Lee

Depending on the age of the box, your best bet would be to remove the drive from the Sky box and use a HDD dock/caddy. If it's a new one, you'll void the warranty.

I've attempted the same thing using the Ethernet & USB's but they are disabled, not leaving much to the imagination.

I think it is going to be the reading of the files that might be tough. I'm getting the impression from elsewhere (though old posts) that files from channels like the BBC would work, but from the Disney channel would not work, due to encryption.

I was under the impression that the sky box encrypts the files on disk, therefore plugging it into a PC would result in unreadable data. I'm fairly certain what you're trying to do is not going to be possible.
