Sky broadband install question

Hi all,

I have signed up with Sky broadband and my activation date is today. I have received my Netgear Wireless router and plugged that all in. So far the Internet LED has not lit up so I am guessing this means that it is not yet enabled at the exchange. A mate came over yesterday and said that I would need to enter log in details into the router, but we couldn't see any such place to enter any details and Sky have not sent me any. Are these 'hard-coded' as it were into the router, so you can't use the router for any other ISP? I haven't run the CD they sent as with past experience (NTL) you do not need these if you are happy setting the PC up yourself and they often install other rubbish too.

So basically, do I just wait for the LED to light up, or do I have to run the disk?

Cheers

The username/password are coded into the router so you don't need to enter them. I think you can use the router with another ISP by upgrading the firmware on the router.
Wait until the LED lights up then your internet should work. They say there will be about 30mins - 2 hours downtime while they switch you over from your old ISP.

I didn't bother installing the disc and it works fine. :)
