Sky Broadband - locked Netgear router?

Is the NETGEAR DG834G that's shipped with Sky BB locked or modified in any way?

yes the netgear router that Sky BB give you is a modified
version of firmware that Sky BB use to hide your adsl login info so
you cant use it with another router or modem.

there is a way to clear the firmware and use the latest 1 from netgear
but its at your own risk

My main gripe with the Sky router is that the DNS is hard coded. If you don't like the Sky DNS you have to overwrite the firmware, use another router or change the DNS on your clients.

This Linky will let you retrieve the username and password from the Sky router to use with another router if you so desire.
