I have been considering changing to Sky broadband but cant quite get over the prices.

I would get the Sky Broadband Max plan, Upto 16MB with unlimited usage. £10/Month.

From what I can see on the site all I pay is £10/Month and nothing else? You just need to be a Sky TV subscriber?

Am I right or am I missing something here?

Thanks

i hear speed sucks with sky, i would read a lot of reviews before you decide, best place to check out is forums at adslguide.org

The speeds vary wildly depending on your distance from the exchange and your line quality and internal setup. Sky can provide you with the same speed as any other adsl provider.

There is no traffic shaping on the llu max package and there is no catch except u need sky tv and you get a free wireless netgear router.

Of course there are customer who are having issues and you will find these if you look for them same as any other provider. The support system they have in place at the moment is not fantastic but as its still under a year old and now near enough half a million customers its doing okay.

Any other info needed just ask.

Nope. That's all you pay per month, and also, you will be on a 12 month contract.

BUT, you have an 8 day cooling off period, after your line has been activated, you have 8 days to cancel your Sky broadband if you are dis-satisfied with it :)

I find it fine and I live miles away from the exchange. I dont use their netgear router though. Interwaeve is on and I now have a ping of 39 against 24 before. Uploads much better; downloads a bit faster. No drop outs and all for a £10 a month. Cant be bad.

Sky make the money from TV. Broadband is just an adition to their packages to make it worth while. I thought this myself but I took the plundge about 4 months ago. Happy as could be with the service. Awsome skybb.

Very happy with it here too. I was on Zen 8mb before and don't notice any less quality in the connection, but with the added bonus of it less than a third of the cost, no monthly cap and then there's the small matter of the double the speed too :)

Totally satisfied here. Been on since last September and the broadband is faultless. I have read and heard loads of hear say and myths about the service but I just don't see it. Well done Sky.

I phoned sky yesterday to enquire about the £26pm sky/bb/phone package but was told that i couldn't get it as all the lines were taken at my local exchange and that i could only get the normal BB for £17pm, to check what packages you can get from sky use this link http://check.skybroadband.com
