Hi all

Just setup a new ADSL Sky connection and I can connect to services such as WhatsApp but I can't get any websites on my phone or laptop. When I try and navigate to a website on my phone, I briefly see a strange string of letters and numbers (not an IP address) and the phone either stops trying to load the page and remains blank or just tries and loads continuously.

I've tried rebooting the router but no joy.

Anyone got any idea what could be wrong?

Many thanks.

M.

Sounds like either a walled garden because some part of the service isn't enabled properly or DNS not functioning correctly.

On my Mac and iPhone I'm getting a strange DNS server showing up. I seem to be able to access either no websites or only websites with HTTPS. The DNS server is showing as:

192.168.0.1 and
Fd7f:b924:9917::9221:6ff:febb:a554

192.168.0.1 is a local address. Most likely the router.

The other is an IPv6 address. That's probably the router as well.

All perfectly normal.

Ok thanks. Well I can mostly get HTTPS websites, no HTTP websites but I can use apps like WhatsApp and on my Mac i can connect to Steam and LoL no problem.
