My mum is currently looking to change to sky broadband and talk, we have phoned up sky, the order has been placed but they are saying that the mac code we were given from her previous internet provider " post office " wont register on their system and is wrong. We were told to phone post office and tell them it wont work and they should give us a new mac code, however they have said the mac is deffinately correct and not expired so untill it expires they wont give us a new one ... is this correct or should they give us a new one now because clearly it isnt working? sky said they arent allowed to say they wont do it because I did querey that with them.

Thankyou for that ive just done it and it says it is valid so  I think im going to have to phone sky and stop being so nice, because clearly its not the fault of us or the other provider ... they wont provide us with a new mac till august when the current one expires and see as the one we have currently is still in date I don't get the problem.

No worries mate. That site has a good rep so if it says the code is valid then I'd take it as truth, maybe the Sky advisor misheard a number or letter over the phone?

possibly yes, will try calling them again tomorrow and hope they dont say the same thing, because if they have heard it properly and its not working then it isnt us its them and will make sure they aknowledge the fault on their part.
