Sky Connect "Traffic Shaping"

Happy because you're moving to BT? You've just made another mistake!
Well we were on BT Total Broadband Option 1 previously and apart from the minute monthly usage limit the service was excellent. My monthly usage is probably around 50GB so I don't think it really classes as a heavy user.

That's just an introductory rate right? I thought Option 3 was £27.99 a month.
Got transferred to what they referred to as their "Special Offers Team" and was told by the saleswomen that at the end of the contract just phone back and renegotiate the price... but yeah, it will go back to £27.99 if left.

To the people talking about LLU or ADSL2 services etc. I live in a very small village with an exchange that see investment last so a BT line is the only choice even on a long term basis. The nearest fibre line is about 20 miles away.

I was trying to use a friends Sky Connect and it didn't go over 60KB/s trying to download files from Nvida, Download.com, Microsoft - all attempted individually.

I've check Sam Knows and it now lists exchange as Sky LLU available (wasn't originally), but don't understand why Sky haven't moved them to the LLU service. Have they got to approach Sky to request switch over?

Yes, but it is well worth it.

I recently moved to sky unlimited ( their LLU service ) and get 15meg down and 1meg up ...... no shaping and no cap or FUP.

I get 1.5 mb/sec all day at anytime.
