I'm thinking of getting rid of my enormous CRT TV and just putting the iMac in the corner. Is there anything on the marked that would allow me to plug my Sky Box into it and watch Sky on the Mac?

I know there are Digital Terrestrial TV tuners out there but unfortunately I live in a crappy area for DTT.

Appreciated.

I use a slingbox at home to watch sky on my iMac, but it's not really ideal for what you want to use it for.. unless you get a TV card that can take an RGB scart the picture is going to be pretty naff.

The elgato tv tuner will let you connect a component connection from the sky box but you cant control it with the mac just your remote.

Thanks for the replies.

Looking on the apple site I found the "Elgato EyeTV 410 DVB-T DVR" at nearly £200! I guess that's what I'd be needing.

Don't mind being stuck with the Sky remote, the gf would give me less hassle if she doesn't need to relearn anything.

There are two possible soloutions.

1. Buy a elgato 310 hook up a CAM and put in your sky card. (There are a lot of disadvantages to this you will need to read up but it will give you direct control without a sky box).

2. Buy either the eyetv hybird or 250 and you can connect the skybox via component video into the device then eventually when elgato extends ir blaster support to uk devices you will be able to use the sky box via eye tv however for the mean time, you will have to set the sky box to the right channel then record using the built in recorder. There will be no way to make eye tv set which channel to record from using sky.

Hope this helps the hybird can be had for about £80 and is a very good buy I have one my self and I am very impressed.
