I have read you can change the horrible sky hub for another router that uses a certian authentication method. i believe my asus rt87u in conjunction with a bt modem supports this authentication. is there any guides on how to do this please or can any of you help em do this please .
Thank you

i have found a few they are confusing and are like 3 years old and some are to replace the wifi ect only but stil using the sky router, some say you need a username and password others don`t really confusing tbh

Yes you can do this quite easily, but you will need Merlin firmware on your router to do it. BT Openreach modem will connect to the WAN port of your router. With the Merlin firmware you can use the authentication method Sky uses. Also, you no longer need your username/password for Sky fibre, a generic "a1b2c3d4e5f6@skydsl|abcd1234" will be just as good, also you don't need to spoof your original MAC address or anything like that. It's quite simple really. In your WAN settings on the ASUS with merlin, you should have manual clientid (option61) which is where you put the generic username and password as above including the quotes.

thak you for th e reply.

yes i use merlin firmware i think i only stayed with the asus firmware for a couple of months when i first bought it lol then switched to merlin and have been happy ever since
