Hi

I have a quick question, I'm pretty sure my problem is with my Sr101 router

can I buy a Sr102 router from ebay and plug it in

will it work

I would steer clear of Sky routers personally. Mines is still in it's box, never been opened, lol.

If you have a white hub do you have an Openreach modem too?

Whats wrong with sky routers ?

I have a SKY Q routers and get a strong wireless signal

No experience with the newer ones. Just didn't like the older ones. I needed certain features like QOS, VPN server, Multiple Guest Networks etc. which the Sky hubs didn't have.

And, AFAIK anyway, no ISP supplied Router currently does either? :confused:

I wouldn't know. I'm only stating the reasons why I don't use the Sky router.

So realistically, no matter who your ISP is, you'd have to buy a different router anyway? Hardly a criticism of sky routers specifically.

True, yes. But as I've been with Sky for the past 20 years my original statement still stands.

Yeah I picked up a SR102 black one from Gumtree 2nd hand (£5), and its working fine, i did look at the Sky Q on ebay but i didnt want to pay the stupid money. My Line re-synced at 34999 so im happy with that. Im looking at a netgear wifi router to use alongside the sky black box

You advised the OP to stay away from Sky routers because:

An old version of the router didn't have some features you needed (which 99.9% of people don't need)
That you have been with Sky for 20 years

Internet at its best.

Think you need to re-read my post. I used the words "I" and "Personally".
