Sky go wont work anymore iPhone 4.

I'm gutted my sky go app won't work anymore on my iPhone 4. Every time I play it I get an error... Video unnavailable, an unknown error - restart the app if this error persists or try again later. I've tryed reinstalling it but same. Any clues why?
 
Yep, probably jailbroken.

Google how to get the latest version of xCon through Cydia and it will fix it :)
 
Ah yes it's jailbroken. It's worked fine before though whilst jailbroken. Il check out that cydia app many thanks.

Sky updated the app to block Jailbroken devices. Presumably they wanted to stop people outputting the video to larger screens or something equally daft?

xCon "masks" the JB to apps that actively look for it.
 
Found xcon in cydia but it says http not found during install. Do I'm not sure it worked. Well sky go don't work after still. Xcon alias you have to purchase and I'm wiery of this tbh. Really sucks this as I don't want to have to lose my jailbreak.
 
Got xcon installed and it still gives me same message I'm afraid such a shame. Damn you sky you greedy gits.
 
I had to Google for the latest xCon as the one from the default Cydia sources didnt support Sky Go at the time, although this might have changed.

Add "http://n00neimp0rtant.dyndns.org/repo/" as a source and then search for xCon again.

You don't need the Alias app, but it helps if another update get's pushed out by Sky I think.

Make sure you have the latest version (25 on mine) for the above reason.

Oh hold on I'm getting different messages now from it.. Maybes a reinstall of sky go? Two tics.
 
Naah not having it. It just tells me I need to be a sky customer now despite logging in.
 
Weird, I'd delete everything again and try later.

The original error message you posted was definitely what anyone who had a JB'd device encountered.
 
Dont know if this is related but now my Facebook app won't work anymore. Since I installed xcon. Gawd I'm not having much luck today haha
 
All the apps mentioned here work fine on my iPhone 4 and it's jailbroken, Maybe I haven't got the recent SkyGo update. Not bothered really, SkyGo only shows sports and films, none of which look good on an iPhone anyways

None of my apps are loading now, what do I do? Facebook / Argos / llyods / nothing loads anymore... Help.
 
Wonder why it won't work on mine? Jail broken 5.01 and latest sky go and xcon... Not xcon alias. Hmm?
